AYB North Yard – ICW Support Dockage
Description
AYB North Yard provides supplemental dockage along the Intracoastal Waterway in the Great Bridge corridor, extending capacity within one of the most operationally important sections of the Virginia ICW. Its positioning near the lock system allows it to function as overflow and staging support for vessels navigating this controlled passage.
While not a primary destination marina, its role within the system is critical—absorbing demand during peak transit periods and offering additional flexibility for vessels unable to immediately pass through the lock sequence. This type of support infrastructure strengthens continuity across the ICW.
